Live-In Dementia Caregiver (Professional Live-In Role)
Weekly pay: $1,439.90 - $2,000 a week | Annual pay: $74,874.80 - $102,000 a year
Room & Board Provided | Private Home Setting
This is a professional live-in position supporting individuals living with moderate to advanced dementia.
It requires emotional maturity, strong boundaries, and the ability to maintain professionalism while residing in a client’s home.
This is not a casual live-in arrangement. It is structured dementia care with clear expectations and accountability.
Live-In Structure & Sleep Expectations
- Live-in Memory Care Partners receive designated sleep time 5 hours of uninterrupted sleep expected 8 total hours of sleep opportunity within a 24-hour period Overnight assistance may be required as needed
If sleep disruption becomes a consistent pattern, the agency intervenes to adjust the care plan. This may include adding overnight support or restructuring the case.
We do not expect Memory Care Partners to function without adequate rest — and we do not ignore patterns.
What This Role Requires
Memory Care Partners don’t just “sit with someone.” You’re day includes 3 things:
- Core care & safety - This includes ADLs and IADLs including Keeping the home environment safe and med reminders
- Engagement & everyday activities - We focus heavily on keeping people involved in everyday life. We work with families to identify “Moments That Matter.”
- Support for the family - Memory Care Partners also help reduce stress for the family by:
- Keeping the home organized
- Observing changes in behavior or condition
- Documenting what happened during the shift
- Communicating important updates to the care team
So the day is usually a mix of care, conversation, and normal daily routines, depending on the person’s needs and energy that day.
No two days look exactly the same. Every day is a little different, but the goal is simple: care, connection, and helping the person stay part of daily life.
You must treat caregiving as a profession — not a favor.
You will:
- Provide full ADL support (bathing, toileting, grooming, feeding assistance) Maintain active engagement during waking hours Follow structured dementia care plans exactly Document every 2 hours (required) Monitor behavioral and cognitive changes Maintain safety inside the home Communicate professionally with families and the office Maintain clear professional boundaries while residing in the home
This is structured dementia care — not companionship lodging.
